Working with Avicanna and MyMedi, Dr. Bear is developing innovative approaches to patient education that translate cutting-edge cannabis science into practical, understandable content.

The collaboration began with Dr. Bear presenting at MyMedi's research symposium, where he demonstrated how to make complex cannabinoid science accessible to diverse audiences. Building on this foundation, he's now working directly with MyMedi's communications team to develop more effective patient engagement strategies, with a particular focus on minor cannabinoids—compounds that show tremendous therapeutic promise but remain poorly understood by patients and many healthcare providers. The inaugural "Cannabis Science Simplified" webinar tackled fundamental questions about how cannabis works in the human body, from the endocannabinoid system to dosing considerations. Our approach combines rigorous scientific accuracy with empathetic communication, recognizing that medical cannabis patients often navigate complex health challenges while advocating for their own care in healthcare systems that may not fully understand their needs. This ongoing partnership is creating new models for patient education that respect patients' intelligence while making breakthrough cannabis research practically relevant to their treatment decisions.
